About Jack
Hi, I’m Jack — a qualified science teacher and AQA examiner with a strong passion for helping students succeed in GCSE Science and A-level Physics.
Over the past seven years, I’ve taught in schools and supported a wide range of learners, including students looking for grade improvements, preparing for resits and home-educated learners who have become disengaged from traditional schooling.
My academic background is in Engineering, having studied Medical Engineering at the University of Leeds. This foundation gives me a deep understanding of real-world applications of science, which I bring into my teaching to make lessons both engaging and relevant.
As an AQA examiner, I also have detailed insight into how marks are awarded and what examiners are looking for. I use this to help students improve their exam technique, structure answers effectively, and maximise their grades.
My aim is to make physics and science feel accessible, structured, and achievable for every student I work with — regardless of their starting point.

My teaching style is dynamic, supportive, and results-focused. With over seven years of experience as a qualified science teacher and AQA examiner, I specialise in breaking down complex scientific ideas into clear, structured steps that students can confidently apply in exams.
I adapt my approach to suit each learner, whether they are aiming for top grades, rebuilding confidence after setbacks, preparing for resits, or learning outside of a traditional classroom environment. My focus is always on improving understanding, exam technique, and independent problem-solving skills so students can succeed with confidence.
A key focus of my sessions is building exam confidence. I help students not only master content but also develop the skills to interpret and respond to exam questions effectively. I strive to create a relaxed and approachable environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and actively participating in their learning.

Jack home schooled my son GCSE science for Year 11 where he learnt everything from complete scratch, and successfully passed all his exams. Not only did he learn a lot, he also looked forward to every lesson and thought Jack was a nice, sociable guy and really easy to talk to. My son would 100% recommend him.
Thank you for all your hard work with Alex. His grades in science have gone up significantly, and he actually enjoys the subject now! Your ability to make complex topics understandable has been invaluable. We’re so grateful for your excellent teaching.
Hi Jack, I just want to thank you for Tahra’s lesson today, she thought your teaching was amazing. She thinks you will really help her to improve her grades. She also said how comfortable you made her feel and that she felt more confident in science than ever before. Thank you so much, I really appreciate it
Thank you Jack, the support you gave Rebecca with her GCSE Science has really boosted her confidence and has shown in her significantly improved results across the year. She couldn’t have asked for a better tutor – patient, flexible, well informed, passionate about the topic, and well organised – a real student focused approach.
