About Raul

I have been a professional musician for over 25 year, I have toured both nationally and internationally in a number of bands that have recorded multiple albums, two of which have been ARIA nominated.
I have been teaching guitar now for 10 years.

About the lesson

I provide acoustic and electric guitar lessons for both children and adults of various ages

I have over 10 years teaching experience and have also taken students for AMEB

I have been a professional musician for 25 years with a Diploma of Music from MWT and Cert 4 in Training and Assessment.

I tailor my approach to teaching depending on the needs and skills of the student.

With beginner students I like to work from books that have clear goals and lessons and music we can work with together.

With more intermediate or advanced students we can focus on particular styles or techniques they are interested in learning.

I teach a broad range of musical styles and the focus is to help my student become a better musician.

Lesson would usually involve:

Warm up exercises (to develop strength in your hands)
Music theory (so you understand how it applies to the guitar)
Developing correct guitar techniques (picking, strumming, learning scales etc)
Learning a song that either the student wishes to learn or that we can pick from a book

I think young beginner lessons should be 30 min long
Young adults and adults can do 1 hr lessons easily.

My rate is $60 an hour or $30 for half an hour
