About Yulianna

I’m currently a junior at the University of Michigan, majoring in Movement Science and minoring in Dance. Through my studies, I continue to develop my understanding of dance technique, choreography, movement, and dance history. I’m also a member of Salto Dance Company, where I choreograph and perform ballet and contemporary pieces. My background in both dance and movement science allows me to bring a unique perspective to teaching, combining artistic expression with an emphasis on proper movement mechanics.

About the lesson

My teaching approach goes beyond ballet technique, rather also emphasizing strength, conditioning, flexibility, and body awareness to build strong ballet technique. With 16 years of Vaganova ballet training and 10 years of contemporary dance experience, I tailor each lesson to the student’s individual goals and abilities. Lessons combine ballet technique with targeted exercises to improve core strength, stability, balance, and alignment. My experience teaching adaptive dance has also shaped my commitment to creating an inclusive, supportive environment for dancers of all levels.
