About Heidi
I’m a passionate chess tutor with over 9 years of experience helping students develop strong strategic thinking and competitive confidence. Chess has always been more than a game to me; it is a powerful tool for building discipline, patience, and analytical reasoning. Over the years, I have led chess workshops and coached students preparing for tournaments and competitive events.
My lessons focus on developing critical thinking and logical deduction through structured game analysis. Students learn how to evaluate positions, calculate variations, and identify tactical opportunities. I emphasize understanding ideas behind moves rather than memorizing openings.
Special attention is given to tactical puzzles and positional exercises that challenge the mind. These activities strengthen pattern recognition and help students think several moves ahead.
I enjoy working with gifted learners and aspiring competitive players who want to push their abilities further. Together we explore opening strategies, middlegame planning, and precise endgame technique.

My chess teaching approach is simple, structured, and focused on building strong strategic thinking. I guide learners through the fundamentals of chess such as piece development, center control, and king safety. Along with this, I introduce pattern recognition, tactical awareness, and efficient calculation methods to improve move selection during games. Students learn practical ideas like forks, pins, skewers, discovered attacks, and basic mating patterns.
I also teach how to manage time during games so players can think clearly without pressure. Visualization exercises and quick calculation drills help strengthen focus and accuracy. I encourage evaluating positions calmly, spotting threats early, and choosing the best move with confidence. Lessons include puzzles, short practice games, and simple position analysis to develop intuition.
My methodology is clear and step-by-step, helping learners grow steadily. I provide regular feedback so students understand their strengths and areas for improvement. Together we build confidence, sharper thinking, and better problem-solving skills on the board. With consistent practice, players develop faster calculation and stronger strategic play.
