About Ron
I have many hobbies and interests, but chess has been a passion of mine since seventh grade. Over the years, I’ve continued to play, study, and enjoy the game, and I love sharing that passion with others. With a degree in education, I bring both my experience as a lifelong chess enthusiast and my understanding of how to teach concepts in a clear, approachable way. My goal is to help students not only improve their chess, but also develop the critical thinking, patience, and problem-solving skills that make the game so rewarding.

I like to start where each student is and make sure they have a strong understanding of the fundamentals. Early lessons focus on tactics, strategy, and understanding how the game changes from the opening to the middlegame and endgame. From there, we explore openings that fit the student's style, sharpen tactical skills, and work toward eliminating those costly "one-move blunders" from their game.
