About Martín
My name is Martín, a composer and conductor with a Master's degree in Composition from the Lübeck University of Music. With several years of experience teaching at music schools in Berlin, I have instructed students in composition, music theory, and orchestration. My musical career has been marked by awards such as the Théodore Gouvy Composition Prize (2015) and reaching the finals of the Witold Szalonek Competition (2018). My works have been performed in Germany, Austria, Colombia, Spain, Poland, and the Netherlands, including at renowned events such as: Klangspuren IEMA (Graz, Austria), Mouvements (Saarbrücken, Germany), Unerhörte Musik (Berlin, Germany), and Zeitgenossen (Heidenheim, Germany). Ensembles and orchestras such as the German Radio Philharmonic Saarbrücken, Trompo (Amsterdam), Boreas Quartet Bremen, Ensemble Volans (Hamburg), and the Lübeck University of Music Symphony Orchestra have interpreted my music. As a former lecturer in work analysis (introduction to the Pitch-Class Set Theory) at the Lübeck University of Music and as a speaker at symposia of the International Anders Eliasson Society, I have dealt intensively with modern harmonic concepts.

Lessons are individually tailored to your goals. Whether you want to learn the fundamentals of composition, deepen your knowledge of contemporary harmony, or gain practical experience in orchestration from the perspective of a conductor and composer, we will primarily focus on:
- Compositional techniques (development, form, notation, etc.)
- Modern harmony (optional): synthetic scales, pitch-class set theory, degrees of intervallic dissonance.
My approach combines practical application with a structured methodology. As a conductor with experience leading ensembles such as the Győr Philharmonic Orchestra (Hungary), the Orquestra de Câmara de Cascais e Oeiras (Portugal), and the LandesJugendEnsemble für Neue Musik Schleswig-Holstein, I bring a unique perspective to orchestration:
- Technical and formal aspects of orchestration: balance, texture, and dynamics in various ensembles (from chamber music to large orchestras).
- Analysis of score examples from the repertoire to show how theory and practice go hand in hand.
