About Eric

I’m a software engineer at Monzo working on the Children’s Banking product, where I build high-scale systems used by millions of customers. Before that, I worked at FactSet, where I helped integrate LLM technology into real products and developed full stack software in a fast-paced commercial environment.

I graduated from the University of Edinburgh with a First Class BSc in Computer Science, and I’ve been passionate about programming since I was 16. Over the years, I’ve built strong experience across software engineering, from clean code and object-oriented programming to APIs, databases, cloud systems, and shipping real products that users rely on every day.

In my lessons, I focus on making programming practical and easy to understand. Whether you want to learn Swift and build iPhone apps, improve your coding fundamentals, or understand how software is built in industry, I’ll tailor sessions to your level and goals so you can make real progress quickly.

As a well-established software engineer at FactSet in London who graduated with a first-class degree from the University of Edinburgh. I have a proven track record of tutoring in computer science-related subjects across all levels from GCSE to university level. My tutoring framework is crafted meticulously, taking an evidence-based approach to enhance learning retention. I employ effective pedagogical strategies such as spaced active recall to enhance memory consolidation of concepts covered. My lessons are not only engaging and interactive but are also structured with the optimal absorption of knowledge in mind. Each 1-hour session is divided into 45 minutes of deep-dive instruction, with the remaining 15 devoted to interactive learning, a structure grounded in educational research.
