About Kathleen
I'm passionate about helping students build confidence and discover that learning can actually be fun! Through my work as a tutor, museum interpreter/educator, and assistant teacher, I've had the opportunity to work with students of all ages and abilities, including those with diverse learning needs. Every student is different, and I enjoy finding the approach that works best for them.
I earned my Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science, graduating magna cum laude, and I love bringing curiosity and real-world connections into my lessons. Whether we're tackling homework, preparing for a test, or exploring a new topic, my goal is to create a supportive space where students feel comfortable asking questions and challenging themselves.
I believe learning happens best when students feel encouraged, respected, and excited to grow. I'm here to help them reach their goals while making the process as engaging and rewarding as possible!

I believe every student learns differently, so I tailor each lesson to their strengths, learning style, and goals. My teaching approach is patient, engaging, and hands-on, using real-world examples, educational games, and interactive activities to build confidence and understanding rather than relying on memorization.
A typical lesson begins with a quick review, followed by guided practice, interactive learning, and time for independent problem-solving. I encourage students to ask questions, think critically, and leave each session feeling more confident in their abilities.
What sets me apart is my diverse background in education. As a museum educator, tutor, and assistant teacher, I have worked with students of all abilities, including neurodivergent learners and students with physical and intellectual disabilities. My degree in Environmental Science also allows me to bring curiosity and real-world STEM connections into my lessons.
I tutor elementary and middle school students in math, science, reading, writing, homework support, and study skills. My goal is not only to improve academic performance but also to help students become confident, independent learners who enjoy growing together!
