About Robert
I’m Rob Percy, new to Superprof. I'm an experienced guitar and ukulele teacher offering relaxed, structured online lessons for beginners and upwards. I teach acoustic and electric guitar across a range of styles including rock, blues, pop, indie, fingerstyle, and improvisation. I have taught music in a variety of contexts: as a private guitar and composition tutor, GCSE and Trinity Grades preparation tutor, associate guitar teacher at Richmond Music Trust, classroom teacher at secondary and primary schools, and as a university lecturer. I also run a weekly ukulele club. My background is in Jazz Guitar and I am also a contemporary classical composer with a PhD in music composition.

I focus on making lessons enjoyable, practical, and easy to follow. We work on real songs, often as requested by students, technique, rhythm, chord changes, strumming, lead playing, ear training, and musical confidence at a pace that suits you. Many students come to me after trying to learn from YouTube and feeling overwhelmed or unsure where to go next. I help simplify the process and give students a clear path forward.
Lessons are friendly and encouraging, with no pressure or intimidating atmosphere. Whether you want to play for fun, build solid foundations, improve your rhythm and timing, or finally finish the songs you’ve always wanted to learn, I’d be happy to help.

Details
30 minute lessons are quite normal, with 20 minutes for under 10s (pricing is pro-rata). For cancellations, I ask for as much notice as possible, but will only ask for payment in the case of a no-show, with the exception of emergencies and sudden illness.
