About Kayelani
I’m passionate about working with young people and helping students feel confident in their ability to learn and succeed. I have three years of professional tutoring experience and a background in higher education, working in a Student Success Office, where I support students in achieving their academic goals and help them navigate college.
With multiple degrees and experience in both education and student support, I understand that every student learns differently. I bring patience, encouragement, and a personalized approach to every tutoring session. My goal is to create a comfortable environment where students feel supported, can ask questions freely, and develop the confidence to tackle challenging subjects.

My approach to tutoring is personalized, supportive, and focused on helping students truly understand the material rather than simply memorize it. I take the time to learn each student’s strengths, challenges, and learning style, then adapt my teaching methods to fit their individual needs. I use clear explanations, step-by-step examples, practice problems, and real-world connections to make challenging concepts easier to understand.
A typical lesson begins by identifying what the student is struggling with and reviewing any important foundational concepts. From there, we work through examples together before transitioning to guided and independent practice. I encourage students to ask questions and explain their thinking so I can identify areas that need additional attention. We finish by reviewing key takeaways and identifying what the student should focus on before our next session.
What sets me apart is my combination of professional tutoring experience and a background in leadership. Along with my biology degree, I also have a minor in chemistry and a bachelor's in Organizational Leadership. I love seeing young people succeed. I have three years of professional tutoring experience and understand that every student learns differently. My goal is not only to help students improve their grades but also to build their confidence and equip them with tools they can use independently.
I work with students in a variety of math and chemistry courses and levels, from foundational concepts to more advanced coursework. I am happy to work with elementary, jr. high, high school, and college students, as well as anyone seeking additional support in these subjects.
