About Smeeta

I am the Founder of MetaSparks Learning, a personalized tutoring and academic coaching business focused on helping students in grades 5–10 build stronger academic skills, confidence, and effective study habits.

I have a B.S. in Computer Science from the University of California, San Diego and an MBA from UCLA Anderson School of Management, along with more than 20 years of experience in technology, leadership, mentoring, and coaching.

At MetaSparks, we believe every student learns differently. Depending on your child’s subject, grade level, and specific needs, your student may work directly with me or be matched with another carefully selected tutor on the MetaSparks team who has strong experience in that particular subject.

Our tutors are chosen based on their subject knowledge, ability to explain concepts clearly, patience, and ability to connect with students. I remain involved in making sure each student is matched appropriately and receives personalized support.

We currently focus primarily on students in grades 5–10, including Math, Pre-Algebra, Algebra, homework support, study skills, organization, and academic confidence.

Our goal is not simply to help a student finish tonight’s homework. We want students to understand the material, become more independent learners, improve their confidence, and develop the skills they need to succeed long-term.

About the lesson

Every student learns differently, and my goal is to first understand where your child is struggling and why.

I provide personalized, one-on-one online tutoring for students in grades 5–10, with a strong focus on Math, Pre-Algebra, Algebra, homework support, study skills, and academic confidence.

I do more than help students complete an assignment. I make sure they understand the underlying concepts so they can solve problems independently and feel more confident when they encounter new material.

During each session, I break difficult concepts into clear, manageable steps, identify gaps in understanding, work through examples together, and then allow the student to practice independently while I guide them.

I also incorporate organization, time management, study habits, and confidence-building when appropriate. My goal is not simply to improve tonight’s homework—it is to help students become stronger, more independent learners.

Lessons are customized around the student's current schoolwork, upcoming tests, areas of weakness, and individual learning style.
