About Otman

I am a qualified Mathematics and Science teacher with over 20 years of international teaching experience and more than 6 years teaching within the UK education system. I specialise in GCSE and A-Level Mathematics, alongside GCSE Science (particularly Physics), supporting students to improve their understanding, confidence, and academic performance.

Throughout my career, I have worked across a range of educational settings in the UK and internationally, delivering lessons across multiple curricula including the UK National Curriculum, IB, and other international programmes. This experience allows me to adapt my teaching approach to suit each student’s individual learning style and needs.

I am known for being a patient, supportive, and structured teacher who focuses on clear explanations and measurable progress. I take pride in helping students overcome challenges, build confidence in their abilities, and achieve results that reflect their full potential.

My lessons are professional, well-organised, and tailored to each student, ensuring they receive the right level of support—whether they are looking to catch up, improve grades, or aim for top results.

About the lesson

My lessons are structured, supportive, and tailored to each student’s individual needs. I use a clear step-by-step teaching approach (“I do, we do, you do”) to ensure students fully understand each concept before moving on. This helps build both confidence and long-term understanding, rather than just short-term memorisation.

I focus on breaking down complex Maths and Science topics into simple, manageable steps, using worked examples, guided practice, and real exam questions. Lessons are interactive, with plenty of opportunities for students to ask questions and actively engage in the learning process.

Lesson Structure:

Review of previous learning and key concepts
Step-by-step explanation of new topics
Guided practice with support
Independent practice to build confidence
Exam-style questions and techniques

Lesson Duration:

Typically 60 minutes, with options for longer sessions (90 minutes) for exam preparation or intensive support

Experience & Qualifications:
I bring over 20 years of international teaching experience and more than 6 years teaching in the UK, specialising in GCSE and A-Level Mathematics, alongside GCSE Science (particularly Physics and core concepts). I have experience teaching across a range of curricula, including UK, IB, and international programmes, allowing me to adapt to different student needs and learning styles.
