About Amelia

Hello!! My name is Amelia and I am a 3rd year university students at UNSW studying Computer Science and Statistics. I know a lot of people will think I am crazy for doing even more maths after high school but I think I have grown a bit of a soft spot for the subject. I know that not everyone will end up loving maths but I do want my tutoring sessions to ensure that you don't hate maths just because it's something you're not comfortable doing.
I believe that the first step to achieving your academic goals is building up your confidence to push your limits and challenge yourself. But I want to do more than just tutor maths, I also want to help students develop long term study habits and exam techniques that will continue to benefit them for the rest of their years of education.
I have been tutoring for about three years and the reason I continue to do it every year is that it brings me so much joy to watch students grow in confidence and achieve the goals that they set for themselves.

About the lesson

I have been a private tutor for the past three years and have found that the most beneficial way to teach students is to continually know what they are doing at school and working alongside the work that they do there. As well as helping students improve academically, I also assist students in finding the study methods that work best for them and building up their confidence. Depending on the needs of the student, I can also provide extra study materials to push them to challenge themselves. I believe that the work that students complete should not start out as easy but instead be at a level to push them so they can reach their potential.
My lessons are typically an hour but I am very flexible to suit your needs. I am capable of tutoring students from K-10 as well as HSC students completing the Standard or Advanced maths course.
