About Kaia
I’m a piano tutor with 6 years of experience helping students explore jazz and develop their musical voice. I hold a BA in Musicology with a focus on Piano History. My teaching approach blends tradition with modern jazz techniques.
I specialize in improvisation, comping, and building a strong harmonic vocabulary. Lessons include jazz theory, ear training, and transcription. These skills help you understand and express music more freely.
I work with students from early intermediate to professional levels. Each lesson is designed to challenge and support you.
Rhythm and groove are always a focus. You will learn to play with confidence and feel. Let’s begin your journey into creative piano playing.

My teaching style is warm, interactive, and focused on clear musical goals. I help pianists develop the skills needed to accompany singers and instrumentalists with confidence. Lessons are designed to build both technique and musical awareness.
You will learn to read lead sheets, transpose comfortably, and respond to rhythm changes while playing with others. These are essential skills for ensemble performance. I use visual tools and shared scores to make concepts easy to understand.
