About Asha
I started playing the piano at age six and quickly found it to be more than an instrument—it became my voice. Over thirteen years of teaching, I’ve guided students from their first hesitant notes to polished performances, and the joy of that transformation never fades. Teaching piano connects me to music’s timeless emotional power. I strive to create an encouraging and imaginative learning environment. My lessons emphasize discipline without rigidity—technique built through playfulness, and artistry grounded in structure. Students often tell me that lessons feel both relaxing and inspiring, which is the balance I aim for. When I’m not teaching, I compose short pieces and collaborate with local musicians. These experiences continually refresh my teaching style. For me, each student brings a new rhythm, and helping them find it is both an art and an honor.

In my piano lessons, I combine technical mastery with expressive depth. The first step is always to develop a relaxed posture and precise finger control, ensuring students play with both strength and sensitivity. I believe in starting with strong fundamentals—scales, rhythm, and hand coordination—before progressing into expressive pieces.
Each lesson is tailored to the student’s level and musical taste. Beginners start with simple melodies and reading music, while intermediate players learn phrasing, harmony, and dynamic control. Advanced students explore classical and contemporary compositions, focusing on interpretation and stage performance.
Music, to me, is a language of emotion. So beyond notes, I teach storytelling through sound—how to make a phrase whisper or sing, how to express joy, longing, or mystery. Students learn to listen deeply, breathe with the rhythm, and allow their individuality to shine through the keys.
