About Willa
I am a piano teacher with over 8 years of experience and a Graduate Diploma in Piano Pedagogy. I love helping students discover the joy of music and connect emotionally with the pieces they play.
I focus on building strong foundations in pedal technique, dynamic control, and phrasing. These skills help students express subtlety, emotion, and personality in their performances. Technical mastery and artistry go hand in hand.
Lessons are personalized to each student’s level and goals. I enjoy helping students find their own musical voice while developing interpretation and expression. Together, we explore tone, nuance, and storytelling through music.
I create a supportive and encouraging space where students feel free to experiment. Music becomes a journey of growth and discovery. My goal is to help every student play confidently, expressively, and with joy.

My teaching approach encourages exploration, improvisation, and expressive piano playing. I work with students in jazz, blues, pop, and other genres. Lessons are designed to be fun, interactive, and inspiring.
We practice melodic development to make musical ideas flow smoothly. Comping patterns, chord voicings, and rhythmic exercises build strong foundations. I also guide students in spontaneous arrangements, turning simple motifs into complete performances.
My methodology promotes creativity while keeping technique strong. You’ll gain confidence improvising, shaping ideas in real time, and developing your own voice. I provide regular feedback to help you grow as a musician.
I work especially well with jazz pianists and pop players. Lessons are engaging, hands-on, and practical. Together, we create music spontaneously and develop the skills to perform with freedom and confidence.
