About Lucy
As a passionate and experienced educator, I bring over 5 years of professional teaching experience to my tutoring sessions. Having worked as a Primary School Teacher across Years 3, 4, and 6, I’m well-versed in preparing children for important exams like SATS, the 11+, and IELTS. I have also lived and worked in Vietnam for a year, teaching Vietnamese children aged 4-12 with language learning and phonics. In addition, I’ve taught in diverse Primary education settings, working with children from up to 15 different language backgrounds. This has given me valuable experience in tailoring lessons to meet the unique needs of each learner. I take pride in creating a friendly, engaging, and often humorous environment that makes learning fun and interactive. My approach is to build strong rapport with each student, getting to know their individual interests and needs, which allows me to tailor lessons in a way that resonates with them. This helps ensure that they not only feel comfortable but also motivated to keep learning. Parents can rest assured knowing that my passion for teaching and my professional background will support their child’s growth and academic success. My lessons are fun, engaging, and interactive, with the aim of making children feel motivated and excited to return each week. I set high expectations for every learner, but always within a friendly and supportive environment where children feel valued and important. By getting to know each child’s interests and hobbies, I tailor lessons to be meaningful and relevant, helping them to connect with their learning on a personal level. As my sessions are delivered online, I use a variety of engaging resources and interactive activities, ensuring students remain fully involved throughout. I offer flexible session lengths of 30 minutes, 40 minutes, 45 minutes, or 1 hour, and I am available during evenings and weekends to suit family schedules.
