About Olivia

I am a qualified teacher with a PGCE in French and German as a second language. I have taught languages (French mainly, German at KS3 and Arabic for primary school beginners) for over 15 years. I also ran La Jolie Ronde French club for 8 years across several primary schools in the North of England, and I really enjoyed teaching French in fun ways to primary school children.
I am currently teaching French in small groups to A level and IB students in a local sixth form college. I am familiar with the different exam boards formats for GCSE and A Level, including the expectations for the IRP, and I am current with the curriculum for the French IB, Ab initio, SL and HL.
I truly believe that speaking another language expands your horizon and it is such a great insight into other cultures. That is how I have learnt to love British culture and I have lived here for over 20 years!

About the lesson

I am friendly and approachable, and my aim is to help you overcome any barriers with spoken or written French. I tailor my lessons to each student, and adapt from one week to the next to support your learning or extend your knowledge further. Lessons tend to be 45 mins to 1 hour, this will be agreed with the student beforehand.
