About Maro Maxon
Hello! My name is Maro Maxon, and I am a dedicated and passionate educator with 14 years of school-teaching experience in Sri Lanka, along with teaching-assistant experience in the UK.
I have experience teaching Mathematics to secondary-school students and supporting primary-school children, including students with different learning needs. I also have a background in ICT and computer studies, and I enjoy helping students develop their digital skills and explore beginner coding.
My teaching approach is patient, friendly, and student-centered. I understand that every student learns differently, so I adapt my lessons to individual abilities, learning styles, and goals. I explain concepts step by step, use practical examples, and provide plenty of opportunities for students to practice and ask questions.
My goal is to help every student build confidence, strengthen their understanding, improve academic performance, and develop a genuine interest in learning. I create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable making mistakes, asking questions, and progressing at their own pace.

My Teaching Methodology and Approach
With 14 years of school-teaching experience in Sri Lanka and additional experience as a teaching assistant in the UK, I believe every student can learn successfully with the right guidance, encouragement, and teaching approach.
My teaching method is student-centered, interactive, and practical. I first assess each student’s current knowledge, learning needs, and strengths. Then, I adapt my lessons to the student’s level and learning pace. I use clear explanations, step-by-step demonstrations, real-life examples, practice questions, and interactive activities to make learning easier and more enjoyable.
A Typical Lesson Plan
Each lesson begins with a short review of previous learning and a discussion of the student’s learning goals. I then explain the new topic using simple examples and demonstrations. Students practice the concepts through guided exercises and independent activities. At the end of the lesson, I review their progress, clarify any difficulties, and provide suitable practice tasks to reinforce their understanding.
What Makes Me Different
My 14 years of teaching experience have helped me develop patience, strong communication skills, and the ability to support students with different abilities and learning needs. I have experience teaching Mathematics to secondary-school students, supporting primary-school learners, and helping children develop computer skills. My UK teaching-assistant experience also strengthened my ability to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
I focus not only on helping students achieve better results but also on building their confidence, problem-solving abilities, independent learning skills, and interest in education.
Who Are My Lessons For?
I welcome Kindergarten and primary-school students who need support with basic Mathematics, numeracy, and homework, as well as students from Grades 7 to 9 who want to strengthen their Mathematics skills. I also offer support in ICT, computer studies, and beginner coding for students who want to develop their digital skills.
My lessons are suitable for students who need extra support, want to improve their academic performance, or wish to build a stronger foundation in their subjects. I offer a friendly, patient, and encouraging learning experience, with lessons adapted to each student’s individual needs and goals.
