About Soofia
Hi, my name is Soofia and I've been tutoring math since high school, most recently statistics and calculus at Coppell High School and in college prep programs with students in University of Texas after moving there for medical school. What excites me most about learning is the opportunity to share knowledge with others. I genuinely love to teach, and I walk away from every session with a fresh perspective whether it’s a new way to approach a problem or a deeper understanding gained from tailoring each lesson to the individual student’s needs.

I use a "learn one, do one, teach one" approach to teaching math, which encourages active participation and deeper understanding. Students either bring in work from school or I create custom lessons based on the topics they’re struggling with. We begin by discussing what they already know, and I build the lesson from there. After working through a few problems together, the student will solve one aloud. Then, I switch roles I become the student, and they teach me, explaining each step and addressing possible points of confusion. I'm a strong advocate for active learning and fostering a growth mindset in every session.
