About Lillie

Hi! My name is Lillie Hedrick, and I have a passion for helping others succeed in and out of the classroom. I am currently a student at the Savannah College Of Art And Design pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Fashion Marketing and Management, with a minor in Jewelry Design. Before my time in Georgia, I graduated from Wilkes Community College with an Associate's degree in Business Management and a certificate in Art History. My passion for aiding students began approximately 5 years ago and has flourished into not only a passion project for me but as a way to spread knowledge to younger generations. I would love to work with you and your student to not only reach educational goals but to excel in their studies. I can't wait to meet you!

As a former student in need of tutoring, I quickly understood how beneficial having someone guide you through lessons and subjects is in relation to long-term learning success. When I realized that I was able to be the "helping hand" that many students needed, I decided that I wanted to contribute to the success of children, the same way my tutor had been to me.

As a student myself, I am constantly involved in learning-based environments, and believe myself to be a "lifelong learner". I have tutored several elementary to middle-school-aged students, ranging from 5-13 years old. In the five years that I have been in the tutoring setting, I have learned the importance of allowing time for creative thinking and asking questions for the long-term success of students of all ages.

About the lesson

My typical process for learning to work with a student is getting to know the individual's learning style and how the student processes information. Once we have figured this out, my main goal is to engage your student(s) in lessons and reviews in a way that the information "sticks". When working with new clients, I also like to learn how they are being given information in the classroom and how I can build off of it to better relate and connect with their learning needs. In the beginning sessions, I also like to give parents short recaps of what has been discussed with the student, as I believe that parents can have extreme impacts on their student's learning success.

After the initial free consultation where we discuss your overall learning goals, standard pricing per hour is $20. Included in this hour is time for discussing goals for that session, answering homework questions, time for questions, and interactive techniques to ensure the success of the student in and out of the classroom.
