Helping our students reach their goals is our goal: we help our students gain the skills, confidence, and know-how to get there. When our students dream bigger, reach further, and get more confident for their future, it makes our work rewarding.

I had been a youth worker at a small local church for a number of years, but I wanted to make a more holistic impact on the lives of students and their families. Every family has two biggest concerns: kids and money. However, these two concerns are amplified during the students' transition years toward college.

So my wife, Chris, and I started a set of services that teach academics & test prep within the umbrella of college consulting.

Founder, Jimmy Kim, has a Master of Education degree from Harvard Graduate School of Education with a focus on out-of-school learning, technology, and innovation. Jimmy has been working with the youth for over 25 years and has authored several test-prep curricula/books, used by other tutoring organizations and schools.

Our coaches are not only knowledgeable in their subject matter (of course) but also are excellent communicators. They have been trained extensively to utilize More Than Scores And Tests's approach and curricula.

About the lesson

1. FREE CONSULTATION: We get to know you and your goals, and devise a personalized approach. For example, is ACT or SAT the better fit for you?

2. STUDY PLAN & AGREEMENT: We set up a study plan, schedule, & tutor match that will work best for your goals, timeline, & budget. For example, will you benefit from 1:1 individualization or small group camaraderie?

3. GET STARTED: Let's roll up our sleeves and get started!

We have worked with students who are struggling to learn due to gaps in their learning, learning differences, or bad learning habits. We also have worked with those shooting for "perfect scores" on their standardized tests.

Because we personalize our approach, we are able to work with a wide range of students with a wide range of needs.

Here is a very important litmus test:

As you spend time with your teacher/tutor, are you becoming more and more DEPENDENT on that person, or are you becoming more and more INDEPENDENT of that person?

Make sure it's the latter.

Here's an email I got from a student who got accepted to Georgetown University this year:

We have standard group pricing for:
* Test Prep Foundations (for students getting 23 or lower on the ACT or 1140 or lower on the PSAT/SAT, or for those wanting to prepare for the PSAT tests)
* ACT Test Prep (for students getting 24 or higher)
* SAT Test Prep (for students getting 1150 or higher)

We have pricing for 1:1 lessons with varying cost range based on the total number of hours needed.
