About Daniel

Finished my B.S. in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology this past December at the University of Michigan - Ann Arbor, I am well-versed in all things science as it relates to college introductory-level courses and advanced biological content. Having completed a pre-medical tract as well, I have experience in the physical sciences (chemistry and physicis), and can tutor up to an introductory level in non-calculus-based physics and advanced general chemistry. I was actively involved in my university's music program, holding several leadership positions which required me to teach others different skills. My past experience with teaching prepares me well to tutor students individually, as I have a strong background in tailoring lessons to each student's needs. My academic tutoring experience is relatively new, as I have tutored for the ACT a few years back and am just now getting back into the field. However, I believe waiting until I finished my undergraduate studies was to my benefit, as I am now confident in my breadth scientific knowledge to allow maximum tutoring success.

I absolutely love teaching and exposing others to the different life science fields! Helping students achieve their academic goals is extremely rewarding, both for me and the student. I strive to not only improve a student's academic skills, but to also give them an arsenal of study skills so they may achieve abundant academic success in the future.

ACT tutoring in high school, and I have been teaching French horn at the college marching band level for 2 years. As an Eagle Scout as well, I have experience teaching skills to others starting in middle school all the way through high school.

In December of 2020, I graduated from the University of Michigan with a B.S. in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology. I am currently working as a Research Laboratory Technician in the Department of Internal Medicine/Pulmonary Care at the University of Michigan Medical System. My training includes the following list of scientific courses:

About the lesson

I would like to have a consultation first, going over what the student would like to cover. I will also outline my expectations for them. If it seems like a good fit, then we would draw up a schedule for future lessons. I work best when I can prepare materials and lessons for the student ahead of time, so I never waste any lesson time. I am a firm believer in never wasting a student's time, since it is so limited, so I am extremely efficient when planning what to include in lessons. The typical teaching process would be an overview of the topic, guiding the student through problems, explaining and reviewing the technique, and enabling the student to perform independently. Reviewing past content will also be a staple of lessons, as it is important to never learn anything and then immediately forget it.
