About Elizabeth

Hello!

I am Elizabeth (Liz) Cagle and I tutor all subjects in pre-K through 8th grade as well as science, writing, and music thoery in high school and college. I am a Texas Certified Teacher and I currently teach high school science.

I was recruited by the tutoring office in college. I became a University Tutor. I have been tutoring ever since. I decided that I enjoy education significanlty more than my jobs in the corporate world so two years ago I became a high school science teacher. I love my job!!

I have a Bachelor's of Science degree in Biology with minors in History and Music Theory.

I am a Texas Certified Teacher with a certification in Life Science 7-12.

I have been tutoring since I was a University Tutor in college.

About the lesson

My first meeting is planning and diagnostic. Then based on the student's needs we move forward with either his or her school work or a lesson plan that I have created.

I have worked with all kinds of students. I have had students as young as 4-years-old and as old as college students and every age in between. I have helped students who were behind get caught up and excell. I have helped advanced students go further and stay at the top of their class as we push toward college readiness. I have taught in an at-risk high school so I can handel just about any kind of academic or emotional disability or disorder. My favorite students to work with are ADHD students since I, myself, am also a high-functioning ADHD person.

First of all, make sure you are committed to improving yourself. Your parents and teachers being committed to your future is not enough. YOU have to want to succede.

Sceondly, make sure the tutor is someone that you can understand. All teacher and tutors have different methods. Try out a tutor for a few lessons and see if you are have "lightbulb moments".

Lastly, learning should be fun!

I currently teach in Dallas ISD. The comminity I teach in doesn't view education as a priority. Yesterday, one of my students told me that I am her favorite teacher. She also told me that for the first time ever she is seriously considering going to college to become a lawyer.

My standard pricing is $25/hour for pre-K through 5th grade, $35/hour for 6th through 8th grade, and $45/hour for 9th grade and up.
