Carmen is a very knowledgeable cook who loves to explore and experiment. She knows all the basics, but she's also quite skilled in the complex art and science of high end French cuisine. Full disclosure: she is my mom, and she taught me how to cook from when I was in grade school. I'd call her at her office and say "there's nothing to eat for dinner" and she'd say "oh, there's plenty to eat. Open up the cupboards and tell me what you see." and we'd go from there. Before you know it I was cooking and it would be ready when she got home. Later in life I taught my wife how to cook and now we enjoy time in the kitchen together and Grandma is teaching my daughter to cook and bake.

I have had many meals cooked by her. The food has always been delicious. 'Raises the bar' such that other meals cooked by others just don't seem as good.
