About Christopher

It is my job to help you reach your writing goals and I am committed to working with you to do just that. In addition to being an accomplished writer, I am patient and will partner with you to complete your writing assignement or to improve your overall writing capabilities.

I enjoy helping others reach their potential. It is truly fulfilling to watch others learn and grow and is a major reason why I am in the field of education. Being a part of this growth process is truly a joy.

As a graduate student, I began co-teaching courses with trained faculty and really loved the experience. I am now a college administrator, but believe that understanding our students requires me to be in the classroom. I teach as an adjunct and have taught associate, bachelors, and doctoral courses.

I have a Masters and Ph.D in social sciences and, therefore, have done a lot of collegiate and graduate level writing. I am also a published author with both books and peer-reviewed articles to my credit. I also help conduct leadership training institutes where I create case studies. Finally, I have assisted with research article, dissertation, and writing sample editing.

About the lesson

I like to determine what the writer's goals are - whether to improve a paper for class, better understand technical writing, or to enhance their writing skills. Afterwards, I work to connect the overall goals with the project at hand to help the writer craft a document in which they can be proud.

I have worked with students in community colleges, bachelor's programs, and in doctoral programs. Although not formal, I am working with my daughter and her friends (high school) on crafting writing assignments that are more reflective of college level work.

I would suggest finding out what their teaching/tutoring philosophy is. Some are more goal oriented (complete the project) while others are more process oriented (improving writing skills) and still others, like myself, effectively integrate both. it is important to get assistance from someone whose approach matches your needs.

2) Am I willing/able to accept constructive feedback?

3) Will I be open to commentary about my writing or am I likely to get defensive?
