About Clayton

My name is Clayton Zarate, I recently graduated from a very talented arts high school program back in 2019! I have trained a n many dance forms, but have most of my training from Ballet and Modern Dance. I work with a professional company that dance in the styles of jazz and hip hop.

The work I do brings me joy everyday. Getting to create and teach is what makes me happy. I have been dancing for the past 10 years. I started in Musical Theater and then transitioned to more classical forms such as Ballet and Modern. Over the years I have gotten to work with some great choreographers and teachers and have learned from them. I love helping people for any auditions they have coming up, whether that's creating a piece for them or giving critiques and advice.

I recently went through a highly prestigious arts academy throughout high school and after graduation I started work for multiple different dance companies. I've done guest artist work at studios.

About the lesson

My initial process is assessing what the students needs are. This initial meeting differs from person to person. Are they looking for just an extra class, or are they looking for choreography? Is it audition preparation? There are many different questions that go in from those the process may be different.

I have worked with students of all ages, from 5 years of age all the way up to 45 years of age, age to me doesn't matter I just haven't worked with anyone older than that. But I also have worked with children with disabilities. One of my fondest memories is being given the opportunity to teach and aide a blind student while she attended her dance class in high school.
