Lori knows so many painting techniques and is able to effectively communicate and model these techniques as she instructs students. Additionally, she is very pleasant to listen to and to watch as she demonstrates techniques. She is honest yet patient, remembering your past successes and building on your skills. I had wanted to learn about painting with Pastels for some time and I was so happy to have found Lori and be able to take classes with her. Even though I’m not yet where I want to be as an artist, I have felt so creative, proud, and joyful while learning through Lori.

After unsuccessfully looking at books on pastel painting, I joined Lori’s Intro to Pastels class. This class has opened a whole new medium for me, one that I will stick with. Even though my interest is portraits and figures, and Lori’s is landscape, she still provides me with valuable advice. I have taken several sessions of the same class over the last couple of years, in which I work on my own painting but feel I continue to learn. Her class also provides me with the discipline to block some time for a medium I have come to love. Lori provides encouragement with great tips. I would whole heartedly recommend her.
