About William
I will help your child develop self confidence and problem solving skills through holistic, artistic courses that will prepare them for the required art programs they will need and use in college. My lessons will expand their intellectual interests and equip them with a level of creative competence that typically correlates to higher academic performance and future college opportunities. I teach an academic approach to all genres of visual art using a range of artistic techniques which includes: art history, color theory and any subject directly and indirectly related to art making and marketing.
I enjoy sharing my artistic knowledge and experience, providing the artistic opportunites and encouragement that I didn't have growing up, and teaching busy people how to live more creative lives by introducing them to the visual arts. Art has its own language, and I relish showing others how they too can create and interpret their own voice using the elements and principles of art.
I began by teaching English to immigrants seeking citizenship and by teaching art to at-risk youth and homeless addicts in New York City.
I hold a Bachelors degree in fine art and earned my Masters degree in studio art from Pratt Institute in New York City. I have studied mulitple art techniques and mediums over the years. I am most familiar with painting and drawing but have competency in all media. I have 15+ years experience living and exhibiting as a professional artist in New York City.
