About Alexis

Easy and self paced History and ENglish tutoring. Not super expensive, great work and personality. Teenage tutor with 2+ years of experience on and off, I'm great with kids younger and my age.

Revolves around your schedule and your pace. A good tutor/student relationship is very imporant to me!

I absolutely love History and English, total geek for them. Honor roll student, tutored a few years on and off in Sweetwater, TN.

AN ADVANTAGE: if taking or organizing notes is a difficulty for you, I am willing to send my notes/summary of a lesson to you, and you can change or rewrite as you like :)

I always liked helping little kids, and once I got into higher grades and realized my grades were A-roll, I realized I could start myself earning from my strongsuits.

I tutored kids in Sweetwater, TN and Athens, TN for 2 years on and off, during and after school hours.

I've taken a few, not a lot, of communication courses and I'm an honor roll student in both areas.

About the lesson

I normally start by getting to know the student, where they're attending school, subjects they like, their strongsuits or weaknesses they want to work on, what they're looking for.

I usually when then get to understand their preferred schedule, areas they need to work on specifically in the subjects,the pace they'd like to move at, etc.

I am very open to negotiating price range if needed :)

I've worked with students from the ages of 5-17 years old, History and English, students that moved at slow and advanced paces, students with learning difficulties.

I would say make sure the teacher is flexible and understanding. I personally love being able to create my own working/learning hours, it can really make a differnce in focusing, stress free learning, retaining the knowledge, and even keeping good grades.

I would also say to make sure the teacher is willing to work no matter how slow or face you want to go, and one that you think you could relate with personally. Speaking from experience, being able to personally relate to someone will make it 10 times easier for them to get through to you in schooling/teaching.

I recently enrolled into my dream online school to finish out high school, and I can finally take the courses I want. I'm enrolled to take courses in marine science, journalism, history major, and anatomy and physiology.

I also recently bought myself a new computer so I'm able to start tutoring once again.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out

Details

This is my first time tutoring in about 6 months, and I understand some students really need the help and can't pay a giant sum of money for tutoring. I normally charge anywhere between 8-14$ an hour, and work anywhere from 10am to 9pm. Hours before of after I would normally charge an extra 1.00$ per hour.

BUT! My pricing system is very flexible, this is something I like to do and want to do, so pricing can be negotiated if needed, and can depend on how much tutoring needed (for example, History and English tutoring or more than one are in a subject)
