About Umber
With over 6 years of experience teaching GCSE Science and A-Level Chemistry, I’ve supported students of all abilities to exceed their capabilities and go above and beyond their predictions. Many have jumped by two or more grades, with some students going on to study Chemistry and Science at Russell Group Universities. I don't just subject knowledge, but a passion for teaching that grows with every student I work with. I’m always refining my approach, learning what works best for each individual to help them exceed their potential. As someone who is professional, reliable, and approachable, I create a supportive learning environment where students feel confident, motivated, and be fully confident when walking into their exams.

My tutoring sessions are engaging, focused, and tailored to each student’s needs, whether you're aiming for a pass or pushing for top grades in GCSE Science or A-Level Chemistry. I break tricky concepts into bite-sized chunks using simple diagrams, real-life examples, and lots of exam-style practice to build your child's confidence when they walk into their exams. Typical lessons usually run for 60 minutes, keeping things engaging but thorough. As a current Science teacher, I have years of experience teaching Science at GCSE and Chemistry at A-Level, with a strong track record of helping students boost their grades by at least one to two above their predictions. I also adapt my teaching for SEND students with clear visuals, structured routines, and a calm, supportive pace. Every student learns differently, I make sure they get tailored support so they can perform to the best of their abilities.
