I am a cognitive neuroscientist (PhD) and experienced tutor dedicated to empowering students through personalized, high-quality education. With a strong academic foundation—including a Master’s in Medical Science and a Bachelor’s in Biomedical Science—and extensive experience tutoring from Primary to A-Level and university subjects, I bring both high-level academic rigor and practical teaching skills to every lesson.

Approach to Tutoring and Teaching Methodology

1. Techniques and Teaching Methodology
Tailored, Student-Centered Approach: I adapt my teaching methods based on each student’s individual learning style, strengths, and areas for improvement. My goal is not just to teach content, but to guide, encourage, and motivate individuals to reach their fullest potential.

Building Critical Thinking & Problem-Solving Skills: Leveraging my research background, I teach students how to think rather than just what to memorize. I focus on core concept mastery, analytical reasoning, and structured problem-solving, enabling students to approach complex topics independently and confidently.

Positive and Encouraging Learning Environment: I maintain an optimistic, patient, and growth-oriented classroom dynamic. I strongly believe that positivity creates the best environment for learning, reducing anxiety and making challenging subjects more approachable.

Structured Time Management and Discipline: Drawing from my extensive experience balancing tutoring across various subjects, academic research, and administrative management, I introduce structured study routines and time-management strategies to help students build self-discipline and consistency.

2. Typical Length of a Lesson
Primary & Lower Secondary: 1.0 to 1.5 hours per session (focused, interactive sessions tailored to sustain attention and enthusiasm).

Upper Secondary, IGCSE & A-Levels: 1.5 to 2.0 hours per session (allows ample time for deep-dive concept explanations, past-paper practice, and detailed step-by-step review).

(Flexible based on student needs, exam preparation intensity, or subject combinations).

3. Qualifications & Teaching/Tutor Experience
Extensive Tutoring & Teaching Background: Experienced freelance tutor across multiple core subjects (English, Mathematics, Science, and Music). I have also taught at a music school, honing my pedagogical and educative skills across diverse age groups (Pre-school to tertiary)

Higher Education Mentorship: University-level experience lecturing, tutoring, and mentoring undergraduate and postgraduate students in cognitive/biological psychology and neurophysiology.

Academic Qualifications:

Ph.D. in Interdisciplinary Neuroscience (Academia Sinica / NCU)
Master’s Degree in Medical Science (University Malaya)
Bachelor of Biomedical Science (Management and Science University)
