About Ramon C
Hello, I have been teaching in the university since 1999 and have helped undergraduate, masters and doctoral students in the field of demography and urban and regional planning. I have taught in the Philippines, Thailand, the US and Australia.
I have two masters and a PhD in the field of urban planning. I am passionate about teaching and learning and would like to assist you in your goals to improve your English or your understanding of Geography. I will first determine your level and find out your difficulties in the subject. That is where I will start and we can carry on from their depending on whether you want to improve your overall grade in school or to help you in job interviews or university exams. I will go throughly with your subject curriculum with you and find out where there are gaps in understanding. I am able to explain complex theories in geography in a comprensible manner as we openly discuss topics you feel unclear and need clarification. For English, I want to teach you in a comfortable and enjoyable manner and concentrating on the basics but also focusing on the part that you feel unease through practice on a one on one basis. Thank you and looking forward to exploring the excitement of learning!

I have a passion for learning, where I read voraciously and learn new things. My own difficulties in learning new topics, difficult topics for example have given me insight on why I don't understand or grasp the subject matter because even though I may struggle with a topic, once I get it, I grasp it as if everything falls into place. I thus find myself being able to explain it in a much simpler manner to others. I am patient as I strive to understand where the lack of understanding or confusion lies in the student's mind, and thus design an approach of practice or explanation.
I started tutoring English after I retired from University teaching.
I have an electrical engineering degree for my undergraduate, and two masters and a PhD in Urban Planning

I will first interview him to find out his level of knowledge and competency in the subject matter. Moreover, I wish to find out his goals and objectives so that I can tailor fit the method of instruction, to show me the school materials he/she is working with and the particular areas where difficulties and hindrances in understanding occur. This is a two way process, I will encourage the student to ask questions about my experience in tutoring and my general approach to keep him/her at ease so that we can come up with an understanding of how to proceed in the tutoring.
Undergraduate, Masters and PhD students
You must feel comfortable with the teacher, someone you feel relaxed to ask questions and clarifications. Find a teacher who encourages you to realize that learning is not only rewarding but an exciting experience.
I'm very excited to learn about vermicomposting as my contribution to reducing waste in landfills. As with anything I set my mind on, I read about it and watch a whole lot of Youtube videos for instruction and advice. I have two compost bins, each 20 gallons started since October 23 and am still adding daily to the contents using kitchen waste and garden trimmings. It is a wonderful project as I am learning a lot.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
The student should be able to explain where he or she is at in the subject material or curriculum, identify the problem areas where he or she feels is behind the competency level demanded in class, and most importantly should be open to ask questions freely to the teacher. This is important so that both teacher and student can agree upon the best method of learning (incuding homework or individual practice) that meets the student's goals and satisfies the progress aimed for by both student and teacher.

Dr. Sevilla is a great teacher. I like his teaching style and the way he communicates with students. Dr. Sevilla is a very sincere and hardworking teacher, and he has the unique ability to build a rapport with all students. He engages his students in unique ways and makes classroom education fun for them. I thoroughly enjoyed his teaching. I still follow his advice on written and verbal communication skills.
Dr. Ramon is very knowledgeable and experienced in his field. He is an engaged and active mentor. I can attest to how proficient, articulate, and well-versed he is in the English language as he proofread my drafts meticulously for my thesis in graduate school. He is a good motivator who constantly picks your brain and I will always be thankful to be mentored by a professor who is passionate about what he does.
I really appreciate the way Dr. Ramon Sevilla handled English and Geography Tutorial. He can readily convey the subject matter with clarity as he has the wisdom and passion to teach. The lessons are carefully planned and prepared in terms of topic coverage and length of discussion. I was able to understand and comprehend the lessons easily as he allows us to interact for deeper understanding. My learning experience is beyond my satisfaction and I highly recommend him for his work.
Dr. Ramon was my professor when I was doing my MA at Mahidol University. He’s a fantastic teacher and mentor. He went above and beyond his role as professor to make sure I became a good write. Also, I have witnessed first hand how he taught English to my fellow Thai classmates, many of who needed a lot more handholding in English language. Dr. Ramon’s knowledge of geography also shone through in the year that he taught me. I was astounded by the depth and breadth of his knowledge.
Dr Ramon has excellent understanding on those subjects. He reads and prepares for the tuition/class before hand. He helps students as per the need and follows up regularly. He is friendly teacher. He is a nice human being and social to all.
Even though I never had class with Mr. Sevilla in Geography specifically, I studied technical terms in urban planning with him. Mr. Sevilla was a very good teacher, he always giving multiple perspective adjacent to the issues in political and social related topics, giving students to expand their point of view on how to tackled urban planning challenges.
aside frim grammar it helps me on how to plan things in relation to my work
Mr Ramon is highly qualified professional.
As a former Graduate School student of Masters in Urban Planning in University of San Carlos (Cebu City, Philippines), I have had the greatest moments knowing Dr. Ramon Sevilla, as one of our dedicated mentor and professor in the Graduate School Program. He is a remarkable talented and smart individual. I would like to take the opportunity to recommend "Doc" or "Doc Ramon" as we all call him, for your program.
Doc puts his absolute best foot forward through everything that he do, which is why I’m confident that he will continue to succeed. He’s an amazing professor, who is always there to help us with our studies, and even put extra mile by mentoring us during our Project Study (Thesis).
It is for these reasons that I offer my recommendations for Doc without reservation. His intellectual skills and hands on academics will be a asset to your establishment.View more recommendations
