About Avery

Guitar is my passion and my career! There is no better feeling than picking up a guitar and playing whatever comes to your heart. I want to help people find that feeling for themselves! I have taught guitar in various capacities for over 8 years. I have been playing for 18! Whether you want to shred or just strum, I can show you the way.

I have taught guitarists of all ages and backgrounds. Helping people grow and reach their musical goals is my favorite thing about teaching. Success drives passion in anything we do, and I will do all I can to cultivate that passion and lead you on your journey to learn this wonderful instrument!

I always gravitated towards teaching because I feel comfortable and confident doing it. I began by teaching a neighbor in high school and it snowballed from there. I had between 8-10 students at any given time.

I have been playing guitar for 18 years. I studied jazz through high school and played in various ensembles while playing in bands of my own. High school is also when I began teaching students of all ages. I went to college for audio engineering and music composition, and continued to play guitar in bands and teach. My professional career has consisted of playing in country bands, rock bands, disco groups, and producing music for a variety of artists. I also still teach guitar! I wouldn't be here otherwise!

About the lesson

I first like to learn about a students musical interests and establish their goals with the instrument. I will get an understanding of their experience level and build a plan to reach those goals, then hit the ground running!

I have worked with absolute beginners and fairly advanced players between the ages of 7 and 70!

Find someone that is not only a great player, but also someone that makes you feel comfortable and excited to learn. There are many people that are absolutely amazing guitarists but cannot teach very effectively. It is a different skillset altogether.

I made focaccia for the first time and it turned out pretttttyyyy good. Maybe I'll bring some to your first lesson ;)
