About Andrew
I try to understand what the student is looking to learn and I will guide you through a step by step process for getting to that point. Instead of giving the student the information they want, I will teach them how to obtain those informations. I try to go by the saying, "give a man a fish and you will feed him for a day. Teach a man how to fish and you've fed him for a lifetime."
Seeing the growth in the student. I think that people can achieve what want to achieve as long they really put their focus, time, and energy into whatever they are trying to do, while understanding that mistakes and failures are all part of the process. I highly enjoy trying to bring out the best in a student and guiding them in their journey.
I got started teaching when I reached out to a guitar school in Burbank, CA in 2015. I applied for a postion as a guitar instructor and got hired. I received training on how to teach guitar as well as developing a mindset to maximize the learning experience.
I have been playing guitar and making music for more than 10 years. I performed countless amount of times around the Los Angeles area. I have studied and played music since I was 9 years old and have participated in many different musical groups and studied with various instructors. Currently, I am a professional guitar instructor at a guitar school in Burbank, CA and have thought over 7,000 lessons. I also own my own recording studio that and produce and engineer for different artists and bands.

My typical process with working with a new student is to see what kind of experience they have already or at all. Depending on that, I can sugest things to work on and develop. I can go ahead a start teaching a song that consists of some fundamental techniqies and concepts from the first lesson. I am also open to working on whatever the student would like to learn or acheive.
I have worked with students ranging from 4 years old to people in their 50's. Everyone has a feel for music and I try my best to unlock the greater musician within them.
Look for someone who actually cares about your growth. Someone who can remember where you left off last time and can pick back up from the previous lesson. Someone who will teach you how to become better not just help you in the moment. Know you are responsible for your development in this skill. The teacher is supposed to be there to guide you in the right direction, you have to take the steps.
I had a student who had a hard time getting over his mistakes. He would be very hard on himself for not being able to play a certain part in a song. The student was a great player but the problem was that he would react to the mistakes instead of playing through it and moving on to the next thing. Then I had him practice not reacting to the mistake but just moving foward. Simply by not reacting, he was able to calmly play through the parts and not let the mistakes interupt his flow.
