About Colin
My teaching approach: All lessons are one on one. I individualize all lessons to fit the particular styles and/or goals for every student, at any age and any level. I provide all materials that we would cover no matter what the student wants to get into. I have been teaching professionally for over 25 years now and I have earned 2 degrees in music. My influences are: Way too many to name here but a lot of them are on my website. Both players and bands from a lot of styles of music. Any style of music and playing to any level a student wants to exceed to! Guitar lessons typically take place on these days and hours: Monday through Friday as early as 3:00pm to as late as 10:00pm. Guitar Techniques: Lead guitar, Rhythm guitar, Open tuning, Fingerstyle, Slide Guitar, Improvisation, Jamming Skills, Reading Music, Music Theory, Scales and Exercises, Guidance In Equipment Selection Your first guitar lesson with me might include the following: Start the foundation:the different parts of their guitar, how to tune it, get started on chords. A guitar lesson with me might entail the following: It could be songs, theory, chords, scales, exploring different types of music, exploring different playing techniques. soloing, rhythm... you name it! The qualities I look for in an ideal guitar student might include the following: One that asks a lot of questions and puts in the practice time on their own.
