About Mark

MM Music has been providing music and voice lessons in Massapequa and it's surrounding communities since 1990. Private lessons are available in our studio or on line for piano, voice, guitar, bass guitar, ukulele and violin. Home lessons are available for piano, guitar and violin. Owners Mark and Jeanne Marino and our professional staff are all dedicated to the complete musical education of our students. We accept students at all levels. Our professional staff guides music students of all ages and levels to master their respective instruments. Students also learn music theory and are offered several chances to perform each year. They are prepared for NYSSMA adjudications and they are invited to perform in our annual recital each spring. Our music teachers also prepare students for college auditions and for shows in both school, local and professional theatres. All of our teachers are professional musicians actively performing the the NY area, with degrees in music from major universities.

We enjoy watching our students become musicians! It is wonderful to prepare them for audions and concerts. It is equally as enjoyable to help them to make music just for themselves. We often teach multiple students from the same family and creating music as a family is really something special to witness. Every spring we hold a recital and the parents of our school aged students are always grateful to see the progress their children have made.

All of our teachers have music degrees and we all perform professionally.

About the lesson

We teach to the student's needs and wants. All students will be guided to learn at their own speed. Young children always are taught the basics of music theory, reading music, and learning the ins and outs of their instrument. Older students are introduced to different musical styles. Vocalists are taught the important basics of singing such as breathing, phrasing and diction. Students and teachers choose repertoire together for their lessons.

We have taught students from age 4 through 88! We teach all levels.

Our last recital was in a beautiful setting. The students performed for their families and they did a fabulous job. The parents were very happy and appreciative.

Details

We charge monthly for lessons. Our lessons are private. In our Massapequa, NY studio or online for 30 minute lessons once a week we charge $125/month. For 60 minute lessons once a week we charge $240/month. For lessons in your home, the price varies based on location.
