About Carl

I have successfully taught hundreds of students how to play and perform since 2011. Since then I have developed proven methods tailored to the individual needs and learning styles of each of my students.

I love sharing the joy of playing music and helping my students make little breakthroughs in each lesson.

I started teaching guitar because music is my passion and I love helping people young and old experience the joy of playing music.

I was a student of Robert Fripp's Guitar Craft courses for several years which helped me to understand the mechanics of excellent guitar technique, and also that anybody can make wonderful music regardless of talent or experience.

About the lesson

I love to get to know my students, any musical experience they might have (even if it's playing the recorder in 4th grade or singing in the car) and using that as a jumping off point for learning new musical terms and concepts.

I've worked with students ages four to 70+ and ranging from complete beginner to advanced.

Find an experienced teacher, and also one who has a diverse range of knowledge. Some teachers specalize in technique or sight reading or theory but it is important to have an understanding of all these and more if you want to progress quickly.

I love having small recitals for my students to share their progress and spread the joy of playing music.
