About Sarah
I love helping students bring history to life in order to better connect, understand, and impact the world around them.
I have a Masters in Education with a social studies endorsement as well as 3+ years of classroom and technology experience that contributes to a positive tutoring and learning experience.
I started teaching because I have a passion for helping people better understand the world around them so that they can make a positive impact for themselves, others, and the environments we are each a part of. Social studies is a subject that helps to build important critical thinking, analysis, and communication skills that will help students to succeed across disciplines and life experiences.

My typical process for working with a new student is a phone or zoom meeting with both the parent/guardian and student. We will go over academic history, goals for tutoring, measureable outcomes, as well as completion of a short student survey by the parent/guardian and student so I can better get to know the student. There will be plenty of time for the student and parent to ask questions of me as well.
We will also discuss rate of pay, frequency, schedule, and method of instruction (in-person or remote via zoom).
High school students (grade 9-12)
Middle school students with learning disabilities(7-8)
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
How would you describe yourself as a student? (i.e. what are your strengths or where do you think you have an opportunity for growth?)
What excites you about the subject?
How do you like to express yourself? (verbally, in-writing, creatively?)
