Our style is classified as an American style of Martial Arts which is a combination of the 7 major styles of martial arts. It is a very effective and powerful martial arts form that requires each student's desire, effort and commitment to excel. Founded in 1965 by American Martial arts pioneer Louis D. Casamassa, Red Dragon Karate has grown to 12 locations in Southern California.

The mission of Red Dragon, is to provide a safe, fun and affordable martial arts school which gives the children (and adults) in our community the opportunity to be involved in a positive atmosphere where they can learn to improve in mind, body and spirit. We will teach them effective self defense skills and show them how to be confident and self-assured while they grow into mature responsible adults. The Red Dragon Karate studio is a place of unity, that empowers students of all ages to take control of their lives through their training with our Black Belt, 5 star certified trainers who guide, coach and empower them to focus on improving themselves as students and martial artists.

Chris is a 9th degree Black Belt, and the current President of the 12 Red Dragon Karate studios in southern California. Chris oversees operations and has inspired, taught, trained and coached over 50,000 students in their quest for personal development, fitness and self defense.

Chris began studying martial arts under the watchful eye of his father, American Martial Arts pioneer Louis D. Casamassa at the young age of 4 and earned his first degree Black belt by the age of 10. He has been actively seeking knowledge ever since.

He has created business programs for schools and school owners that have helped tens of thousands of people. His signature program KICKNFIT KIDS helps address and solve the problem of childhood obesity. In just 6 short weeks kids can lose 10, 20 or 30 pounds and have a blast doing it. With 60 licensed locations across the United States KICKNFIT continues to grow and help kids get fit, strong and healthy.

With the 12 Red Dragon Karate studios in California, the Martial Art system and style that his father created in 1965, Chris continues to train, motivate educate and inspire over 75 owners, instructors, trainers and managers. on a weekly basis.

Chris competed professionally on the North American Sport Karate Tour (NASKA) where he amassed a very impressive string of titles: he is a 4 time national forms champion, a 2 time national weapons champion, and a top 5 rated middleweight fighter. Besides his outstanding tournament record

Chris is featured in dozens of films and Television shows. Hie has been in everything from the original Karate Kid movie, to Shootfighter, Blade, plus a TV series called “WMAC MASTERS” Where he played the lead role of RED DRAGON. Chris also doubled for George Clooney in Batman & Robin.But for millions fans around the world, the role for which most people now recognize him is The role of the super Ninja “Scorpion” in the hit action film franchise “Mortal Kombat.”

About the lesson

For new members we offer a free trial program that include 3- 30 minute private lessons. they are taken with our professionally trained and certified instructors. This way we can make sure our members are ready for class and parents can make sure we will meet their needs. (I know we will because we’ve been doing this for over 50 years- but we want everyone to be 100% sure)
