About Jesse
My name is Jesse Stark, and I am on a mission to help everyone increase their quality of life through the blessings and lessons of Universal Jiu-Jitsu. I am a certified self defense instructor under Professor Stephan Baker at the BJJ Club of Michigan in Southfield.
Jesse Stark (Coach/Instructor) BIO:
As an established and visual artist of many years, Jesse has directed his passion over the past 5 years to the study of Martial Arts. As a student and teacher of "The Gentle Art," Jesse has committed and submitted himself completely to Jiu-Jitsu.
His dedication to the craft is what what many would consider overly obsessive, however it is this great obsession that has changed his quality of life in countless positive ways. His mission and dream is to discover and share the wealth of wisdom Jiujitsu has to offer with everyone he can so that they may benefit also.
Services Offered:
Kobushin Self Defense is a 1.5 hr class taught by Jesse Stark Every Tuesday and Friday from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM. Kobushin Combat® is a modern Jiu-Jitsu self defense/fighting system built for everyone. Written and developed by Professor Steven Baker (2nd degree black belt). It is saturated with over 250 years of fighting knowledge passed down from our masters in lineage.This class focuses on the most important techniques, principles, and concepts necessary to defend yourself and fight as a Woman, Man or Child in the modern world. Classes are free to all club members with a drop in fee of $10 to the public.
UNIVERSAL JIU-JITSU is a 2 hr class taught by Jesse Stark Every Saturday from 12 PM to 1:30 PM (after open mat). It focuses on Jiu-Jitsu as a universal fighting system applicable in all realms of Self Defense, Sport/Competition (Gi and no GI), MMA, and as a way of life). Classes are free to all club members with a drop in fee of $10 to the public.
Private and Public Classes Available: (Men, Women, Children,Groups/Families).

Jiu-Jitsu is a safe (non-striking) full contact martial art and will require you to partner with others. To combat covid concerns we now offer safe and affordable private lessons to Individuals and Families. Please call for more details.
ID required for all Individual participants with release waiver. Non Member Children must be accompanied by a Parent/Guardian.
Temperature Checks done at door. Masks Encouraged. Vaccinated Participants not required to wear a mask.
Participants who do not display clean personal hygiene will not be allowed to participate. Please shower and trim nails before class as well as wear clean & comfortable workout clothes.
