Originally suggested by my inspirational mother who boasts 20+ years providing an education to countless students, the idea of helping the next generation succeed has always been an important goal of mine. Assisting in teaching the youth to live as active and educated members of society will benefit everyone and help society as a whole progress in the right direction.

Bachelors of Liberal Arts and Science, with focus on astrophysics.

Current employment: Permanent full time substitute teacher of Melvindale High School.

About the lesson

1. Read through problem and determine what is asked and what information was provided.

2. Provide a detailed step-by-step walkthrough reguarding answering the problem.

3. If during walkthrough any confusion regarding the application of fundamental math properties occurs, the revealed issue will then be immediately and thoroughly explained. This will provide understanding regarding not only the completion of the current problem but allow for application in future advanced problems.

4. Following the completion of step-by-step walkthrough a new problem involving similar properties will be provided. This will be completed to the best of the student's ability without instruction. Any issues will be met with an explanation of the process necessary to complete the problem.

5. Student is given a new problem and works through it individually with intentions of successfully answering without aid.

6. If student continues to exhibit confusion, steps 4 and 5 will be repeated until student is confident in their skills to complete problem.

I have experience educating a widely diverse group of students. I have worked with the general student populous, those of special education, those included with the ELL (English language learning) designation, as well as specific work reguarding those who have fallen behind their expected level in order to get them caught up to where they are supposed to be.
