About Ari
I am patient and work well with kids of all learning styles. As someone who has tutored throughout high school and college, I have lots of practice at all paces and levels of education! I'm passionate about learning and helping others discover how to make learning simpler for themselves.
I love seeing people celebrate after surpassing an obstacle they thought they'd be stuck on forever. The moment where something clicks, where the lightbulb dings, is one I enjoy more than anything. Watching others grow and seeing them succeed makes me so happy!
I started tutoring in high school, when a professor of mine from my dual credit program encouraged me to volunteer with AVID and through my district to support middle and high school students with STAAR testing and math classes.
I have my degree in Mathematics from the University of Texas at Austin. I worked with K-12 kids at the YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas as a summer camp counselor for several years and have been tutoring family friends since high school! I genuinely enjoy math and find it incredibly interesting, and consider myself a lifelong learner in the subject.

At first, it's all about establishing a baseline. Once we're on the same page about what the student understands and where things start to get fuzzy, we can make sure we're using our time as effectively as possible to tackle just what concepts feel difficult. From there, it's important to make sure that every student has their instruction individualized to their own needs. Every learner is different, and will have different needs!
I have worked with students with ASD, ADHD, as well as other learning and developmental disabilities. My teaching style is variable based on what is needed for them, and I employ techniques from systems such as ABA to inform my teaching methods.
