About Katie
I attend Loyola University Maryland as a double major in Applied Mathematics and Spanish. I have been working at my university as a tutor to other college students for a year and have received certification as a Level I tutor through CRLA's International Tutor Training Program. I am young and eager to help young students learn and do well in their studies. I have tutored a large age range of students (ten to twenty-two) and many different topics.
I love working at school as it allows me to meet new students, however I also enjoy tutoring outside my univserity as it gives me an opportunity to engage with people in my community rather than just at school. Tutoring not only gives me the satisfaction of helping those who struggle to overcome their study difficulties, but it also gives me great practice in my own basic skills and helps me to grow stronger as a tutor and student in general.
I have been working as a tutor for a year at my university and privately at home. I received training before first starting to tutor and am now a Level I Certified Tutor through CLRA's International Tutor Training Program.

When working with a new student, I typically begin by letting he or she explain what the topic is and what he or she finds particularly difficult. I have the student explain his or her methods of studying and the style of teaching of the professor or teacher so that I can find the best approach of helping this student in particular. I address the first topic slowly until the student is sure he or she understands and then continue using that same manner of teaching with later topics.
