About Benjamin
Currently, I am working at Oakview Elementary as an ELA Paraeducator. I work with kids who need a little bit of extra help with reading and writing. I am studying to become an elementary education teacher, through an online program at WGU. Working with kids has been something I have enjoyed doing since my sophomore year of high school through programs such as BBBS and camp counseling gigs.
I enjoy helping children succeed. I always strive for the aha moments when a kid finally understands a new concept.
I have not yet started teaching, but I will be done with school in approximately a year and a half. Working as a paraeducator has been my favorite job I have ever had. I have never had a job where I was excited to go to work the next day, until now.
I am a certified paraeducator in the state of Washington.

Building a relationship, where the student is comfortable and willing to learn is always important when working with a new student. Asking questions like what they like to do with their free time, what is their favorite book is a go-to icebreaker I like to do.
I work with students from kindergarten all the way to the sixth grade.
Recently, with mid-year testing, I was excited to see my students testing higher. I enjoy seeing students' confidence in reading excel.
