About Michael
As a high school student, I often struggled with math and science. After graduating, I promised myself that I would become more proficient at my worst subjects.
I entered into engineering school where I painstakingly tutored myself to begin understanding all aspects of mathematics and science, and graduated Cum Laude with my Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering in 2019.
Throughout my time at college, I tutored many engineering, math, and physical science students to better understand their coursework. I've always had a true joy for teaching, and intend to become a high school or college teacher in the future.

I truly enjoy tutoring and seeing students succeed by reaching their full potential. I was once confused by high school and college coursework, and making the tutoring process fun and intellectually engaging is an improtant part to helping a student understand their subject well.
I began tutoring other engineering, science, and math students in college starting in 2014.
I graduated Cum Laude with my Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Cleveland State University. I've taken many advanced mathematics and science courses, which include but aren't limited to Physics 1 and 2, General Chemistry, Calculus 1 and 2, Multivariable Calculus, among others. If you have a student that needs tutoring in a specific subject, please ask and I'll see if I can help.

When being introduced to a new a student, I find that approaching them casually during the first session is an important step to take. Getting to know each student and their interests, favorite things to do, and general behavior can be helpful in determining the best way for them to learn a difficult or challanging subject.
I've worked with students that had a good grasp of the course material with one particular subject they didn't understand well, but I've also worked with students who had little to no experience with their course subject that needed instruction from the ground up.
Strike up a conversation! Talk about your coursework, what you're struggling with; have no shame. We're all students through life and not everyone learns at the same pace as others.
Seeing the face of a tired college student I tutored walk out of their Calculus 1 lecture after receiving an A on their final exam (after averaging a C on each test beforehand). The word "joy" doesn't even begin to describe their expression.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
1. What am I doing to understand the material? Am I doing extra practice problems and exercises before seeking help, or am I truly stuck?
2. What can I do to pull up my grade for the rest of the course?
3. Am I having trouble being motivated to understand something, or am I just not capable of understanding the material (previous material understanding missing, etc.)?

The tutoring session I had with him made my class easier to understand. Well worth the time spent
Michael broke down my Calculus I class into its basic components so I could take the time to understand the subject. He was patient when working with me and the tutoring sessions we had were casual and enjoyable!

The first session with a student is free as I get to know them, their behaviors, how they learn, and as I learn about their subject and what they're having trouble with. I usually hold sessions for $60/hour given my academic background, previous tutoring experience, and willingness to accomodate.
