About Allie
I'm in college right now, so I'm not too old and I'll be able to relate to the kids in an effective format. I like to form a connection with the student and create a friendship.
I love working with kids :) Being able to help a child in their pathway to success is a great joy of mine.
I started by babysitting. While I babysat, I often had to help them figure out their homework problems and realized how fun and refreshing it was to work with kids and see them succeed.
I worked for a family with 2 kids for about 2 years where I helped them with remote learning, English, Math, and Science.

I like to start off slow and figure out where the student is in their learning career. Everyone works at different paces, so figuring out how their brain works is a priority.
I've worked with kids of all ages in my church, but I mainly worked with an 8 year old boy who was very advanced in math but needed help with reading and writing.
I'm not harsh. I understand what it means to struggle, and sometimes understanding something is way easier said than it is done. It's important not to be too hard on yourself.
While I was babysitting a few kids, there was a two year old who grew extremely close to me, everytime I came over she would yell my name and ask me to fix her hair in an "Elsa" hairstyle (braids) and I just think the connection between us is something that I won't forget.
