About Lydia

Hello!

My name is Lydia and I'm a junior studying accounting and Spanish at the Ohio State University. I have experience working as a camp counselor at Enchanted Care Learning Center and as a camp counselor at my local sixth-grade camp. I enjoy working with kids of all ages and I have had great success in my own academic career. In high school, I was enrolled in many AP classes including AP Literature and AP Statistics as well as honors courses. I graduated with a 3.9 unweighted GPA and currently have a 3.9 GPA in college as well. I am a very responsible and organized person and I would love to help you or your child with any English or Math tutoring needs throughout the summer. I have always gravitated towards jobs and positions where I can help people succeed. I thoroughly enjoy working with all different types of people and helping them reach their potential.

I have a high school diploma and am currently enrolled in college. I have worked with kids and people my whole life and have been a camp counselor at a summer camp.

About the lesson

For working with a new student I would really try to get to know them and understand what their challenges are. Then, I would devise a plan to help fill in the gaps in what they need to learn and make a schedule for them to stick to so they can meet their goals. During our tutoring session, I would start out by asking what questions they had for me or what they found confusing to make sure our lessons are always relevant.

I have worked with K-8th grade students and am willing to work with high school and college-aged students as well.

I would say to look for someone who has personally had success in their own academic careers and knows how to help you. Look for someone that you can look up to and relate to and can help you achieve your goals.
