About Suzannah
I am a retired NIH-funded scientist. My current mission is to increase science literacy for the future by helping students learn how scientific knowledge is created and evolves. Math and science go hand in hand. Quantitative reasoning is a critical tool used by scientists to determine how confident they can be about their findings and to model their implications and significance.((concealed information)
I love the 'aha' moment when kids truly "see" the concepts with deep understanding. A lot of people say "I'm not a math or a science person." However I know that everyone can learn to reason scientifically, develop comfort with numbers, think quantitatively and visualize mathematical problems and puzzles. Number sense is so much more important than memorizing formulas, and as a side effect, increases performance on standardized tests more than rote memorization. Deeply-learned concepts and open mindset habits last a lifetime.
