About Varun

For me, my entire tutoring business is based on friendship. The bond I build with my students allows me to tutor them in a way where they are completely comfortable in asking questions or solving problems. I have been tutoring for the past 5 years in various different locations such as EyeLevel tutoring, private tutoring, etc. My qualifications in teaching Math and ELA stand out as I have a very strong foundation in Calculus, and SAT level Math and ELA. I have also scored a perfect 5 on the AP English Exam.

I first started teaching through eye-level where I mentored students in basic Math and English. After I gained a large amount of experience I shifted to private tutoring where I taught students higher levels of Math and English (SAT included) with positive results.

I have experience working at different tutoring centers and teaching students of all age groups and levels. In addition, my undergraduate experience also adds to my caliber as a tutor.

About the lesson

With a new student, I make sure to first clearly understand where they stand in terms of grasping a lesson. Then I move on to a few practice problems to gauge their knowledge.

I have worked with elementary school kids, middle school, high school, as well as college.

The advice I would give any student looking to hire a teacher is to make sure you can listen to them for an hour without feeling uncomfortable. Always, Always ask for a free trial session before starting with them just so you know if you want to continue.

I recent event that I still cherish is teaching my student, Alden. He was a 4th grader with whom I developed a special friendship with over the course of 9 months as I tutored him.
